MINNESOTA
Minnesota is a really fun place and very interesting to learn about and live. Known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, the state’s name comes from a Dakota word for “sky-tinted water”. Those waters, together with forests, parks, and wilderness areas, offer residents and tourists a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.
Minnesota is so rich in natural recourses and can sereve alot to the plate. Some of Minnesota’s natural resources are: birds, fish, farming, clean water, forests, rocks & minerals (especially taconite and iron ore from Lake Superior). Not only that but Minnesota is really fun if you like to do water sports since there are thousands of lakes in Minnesota.
Not only that, but Minnesota has some amazing land marks! Such as Split Rock lighthouse on Lake Superior, the Paul Bunyan statue in Bimidji, the Gooseberry falls, the Charles Lindbergh house in Little Falls and the James J. Hill house in St. Paul. Minnesota also has a TON of state parks The Minnesota State Park system consists of 66 state parks, six state recreation areas, eight state waysides, nineteen state trails, and 54 state forest campgrounds and day use areas, totaling approximately 267,000 acres.
So what dose Minnesota have to offer for your family? All of the above. You can go to a lake, which is basicly around every corner, you can go hunting, camping, traveling and be a tourist at any of our great historical land marks.
I remeber going to Split Rock Lighthouse in the begining of August for its 100th birthday. I went with my grandma, great-aunt, my older sister and my younger second-cousin. It was amazing to learn about that place and what would go on around there 100 years ago!
